The Winter Lantern Festival began in New York in 2018 created by Kaleido Entertainment with the goal of activating public spaces to feature world-class lantern festivals.

Since beginning in New York the Winter Lantern Festival has expanded all across the Eastern United States featuring two new festivals including the Sealight Festival and Autumn Glow Festival.
